With everything going on in the world, it can be an adjustment to work from home for the first time. It can be easy to fall into a slump and not get any work done. Here are some tips for those working from home.

  • Routine: 
    • Wake up early
    • Put on normal clothes
    • Wash your face / do your hair and makeup!
    • Behave just ask you would in your normal work environment
  • Workspace:
    • Pick a space with limited distractions
    • Choose a room that isn’t too comfortable
    • Try to avoid working from your bedroom or living room
    • Keep your workspace organized
    • Separate your personal and work spaces
  • Ground Rules:
    • Set some rules for yourself and other family members if applicable
    • Make sure everyone is aware of your ‘working hours’ in order for you to get the most out of your work day
  • Communication:
    • Keep in touch with your boss and coworkers often – it can be hard to let time slip away when you aren’t in the same room as the people you work with
    • Check in on your coworkers. See how they are getting through
    • Let others know when you are available to chat
  • Take Breaks:
    • Take your full lunch break
    • Go outside and enjoy the fresh air
    • Go for a quick walk outside to get your blood flowing
