With everything going on in the world, it can be an adjustment to work from home for the first time. It can be easy to fall into a slump and not get any work done. Here are some tips for those working from home.
- Routine:
- Wake up early
- Put on normal clothes
- Wash your face / do your hair and makeup!
- Behave just ask you would in your normal work environment
- Workspace:
- Pick a space with limited distractions
- Choose a room that isn’t too comfortable
- Try to avoid working from your bedroom or living room
- Keep your workspace organized
- Separate your personal and work spaces
- Ground Rules:
- Set some rules for yourself and other family members if applicable
- Make sure everyone is aware of your ‘working hours’ in order for you to get the most out of your work day
- Communication:
- Keep in touch with your boss and coworkers often – it can be hard to let time slip away when you aren’t in the same room as the people you work with
- Check in on your coworkers. See how they are getting through
- Let others know when you are available to chat
- Take Breaks:
- Take your full lunch break
- Go outside and enjoy the fresh air
- Go for a quick walk outside to get your blood flowing
